2013 AITP-LI Student Scholarship Program Celebrates 35 Years
The Board of the AITP-LI chapter takes pleasure in announcing that, once again this year, will be awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college students who are children or grandchildren of active AITP-LI members. Over the past 35 years, the AITP has awarded close to $100,000 in scholarships to deserving students.
“The Scholarship Committee gets great joy in being able to participate in the process.” Said Robert Kratzke, AITP’s Education Committee chair. “Getting to meet the students, and learn of their accomplishments and future goals while reviewing their applications is inspiring. Being able to present a check to help students offset some of the costs of their continuing education is a bonus.”
In addition to the scholarship awards, honorees and a guest are invited to attend, as our guest, one of the AITP’s Most Anticipated Events - the Annual the CIO Panel Luncheon and Educational Showcase on May 21st at the Huntington Hilton. Here the students will be recognized for their award, get an exclusive Meet and Greet with our CIO Panelists, and the opportunity network with AITP members and educational showcase partners. Last year’s event had over 180 attendees.
Sponsoring AITP members must have been a professional member for at least one year at the time of application submittal. To qualify, sponsored applicants must be full time students at an accredited college or must be high school seniors already accepted by an accredited college. Previous AITP scholarship recipients are not eligible. An AITP member may sponsor only one student application annually.
Go to the AITP-LI (www.aitp-li.org) web site and refer to the 2013 Scholarship Application Form for complete details on how to apply. The deadline date for submission is April 26, 2013. Email and/or Mailing address information is indicated on the application. Notification of winning applications will be made by May 9th, 2012. Awards presented at AITP’s CIO Panel Luncheon and Educational Showcase on May 21st at the Huntington Hilton.
