Security SIG 2015

Vulnerability of any security system starts at the endpoint – the human factor.

Either through mistakes, requests for others to “handle” an assignment, “borrowed” credentials or real malicious intent, these are the most costly in terms of dollars and jobs. Plus Discovery of a breach is usually from outside the company – how embarrassing!

Recent publicized breaches prove it; Target, Home Depot, Anthem Health just to name a few…and all those small businesses that need help with proper security.

YET IT budgets are leveraged toward anti-virus, perimeter and intrusion protection, NOT focused on mobile security identity practices and internal procedures that are designed to protect employees, partners, contractors and the future viability of the organization. GOVERNANCE, those security practices that protect us, are outside of our typical comfort zone.

Hear and learn from those experts that consult with IT and executive management daily.

  • Raytheon Cyber Products, Dan Velez – this leading defense contractor monitors compliance breaches to protect its employee base, partners and our country’s secrets
  • Cyberfy, Robert Schiff – Biometric mobile solutions developed with Israeli intelligence agents to allow secure, non-assignable identification for access to critical company and personal information
  • Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg, LLP, Hillard M. Sterling, Esq. – a managing partner in this national law firm specializing in labor, cyber and compliance law on IT’s role in overall total security partnership
  • Recall Corp., Phyllis Elin – a Sr. Director at this global data protection company in 23 countries focuses on security, compliance and lifecycle management of digital assets
  • Suburban Hospital Alliance, Kevin Dahill – current and former CEO perspective on how compliance plays a critical role in cyber security and business risk
